The outside area that once displayed our treasured Old Chatham Meneely Bell, stolen last April, is undergoing a transformation. Many thanks are in order for the voluntary hard work and diligence of hamlet resident and MBCC board member Patrick Spillman. Patrick has single handedly dug out and removed the disintegrating concrete platform on which the bell once rested and is clearing the area for new grass. The MBCC Board of Directors will be meeting early in October to discuss this and other issues concerning the center. Though we are moving forward, thoughts of our stolen bell being returned to us still exist among many. Let’s continue to hope.
