Richard J. Dorsey (1927-2023) was Town Historian for Chatham, New York, and dedicated years to researching, writing, and producing a group of books telling the history of towns and hamlets within Columbia County, New York. He did all the research for the books from primary sources such as land transaction records in the local towns and from newspapers from the associated eras. Dick was always pleased when he could visit one of the houses covered in the books and learn more. The books are now available online by print on demand.
